How I work

A process built to leave you independent.

External consultants should reduce risk, not add it. Every engagement follows the same four phases, with a written deliverable at the end of each.

01 · Days 1–5

Discovery

I audit what exists: code, infrastructure, telemetry volumes, network topology, query bottlenecks and cloud bill. You get a current-state diagram and a list of risks — ranked, not padded.

02 · Week 2

Blueprint & Proof of Concept

A target architecture with diagrams, schema definitions and cost estimates, plus a small proof of concept in a sandbox for anything uncertain. Nothing reaches production on a guess.

03 · Weeks 3+

Automated Rollout

Infrastructure as code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines and a cutover plan with a rollback path. Changes land in small, reversible steps — no big-bang weekends.

04 · Final week

Handover & Runbooks

Documentation, runbooks, dashboards and alerts, plus walkthrough sessions with your team. The goal is that you don’t need me to operate what I built.

Principles

Working together, day to day

Async-first, UK/EU hours

Written updates, recorded walkthroughs and a daily overlap window with UK and European teams.

Everything as code

Infrastructure, pipelines and database config live in your Git repository, not in my head.

Fixed scope, clear price

Each phase has a written scope and deliverables before work starts.

NDA-ready

Happy to sign your NDA. Your data and access stay in your accounts.

Have a platform that needs to scale, stay up, or move clouds?

Tell me what you’re building. You’ll get a reply within one working day — with questions, not a sales pitch.
